Get an eyes-wide-open perspective on your new career options with Tonkin + Taylor, NZ's leading environmental and engineering consultancy.
To get an idea of what it is really like working at T+T as a grad - watch Katie, Oliver and Cole describing the first year in their careers. (Note: No-one was bribed in the making of these videos).
First off, you’ll get the chance to work on a variety of projects with both national and international focus. Your workmates will be some of the top minds in the industry and they’re ready and waiting to welcome your input and ideas.
Tonkin + Taylor gives graduates the opportunity to work right across the Asia/Pacific region, with offices around New Zealand and in Melbourne. Join us and you’ll become involved in cool and rewarding projects like coastal protection work in Kiribati, the Waitangi Wharf upgrade – an economic lifeline for the Chatham Islands. You could be part of the alliance repairing SH1 around Kaikoura or tunneling under Auckland’s CBD to create a multi-million dollar rail corridor; the challenges are endless.
Everything we do has its environmental rewards too, like rehoming native species ahead of the bulldozers, beach replenishment and ensuring the future of iconic natural features like Cathedral Cove. And you could be helping to build more resilient communities by getting involved in disaster risk reduction, tsunami evacuation, early warning system development, resilience planning and more.
Right from the beginning you'll be hands-on, liaising with clients, acting as an ambassador for T+T
Ongoing professional development
We're committed to life-long learning. Your ongoing professional and personal development is not only important - it's a must!
Work life balance
Friends, social life, work commitments, sport, relationships - it can be a bit of a juggling act fitting it all in. We appreciate the value of work-life balance in today's busy world and the importance of achieving what that balance looks like.
You are important and we take your wellbeing seriously! One of the ways we do this is by offering an annual allowance. From gym memberships and sportswear, to music lessons and e-readers - you choose what to spend it on!
Each office has its own active social club and a full calendar of diverse activities, such as fishing charters, a night at the opera, skiing weekends and home brewing competitions! The aim is to relax, have fun, and get to know your colleagues.
What's our Goal?
Like you, Tonkin + Taylor has its aspirations. Ours is to provide the scientifically, environmentally and ethically sound engineering solutions on which prosperous economies are securely founded - while embracing a culture of genuine care.
We aim to be the best to work for, the best to work with and the best at what we do. After all, it's the people that make ours such a fantastic organisation - the people we employ and the clients we work with!
Why wait? If you're a team player looking for a company who offers their graduates autonomy, and you know how to have fun along the way, then we want to hear from you!
