Elyse is an Environmental Specialist with an Honour's degree in Biology and Geology and a Diploma in Engineering (Civil). She has 10 years’ professional experience in New Zealand and has been working with the Tonkin + Taylor Contaminated Land Team since June 2015. Her prior roles include working for the main contractor on a number of major roading projects and in the regulatory team at the former Auckland Regional Council.
Elyse has worked across various project types from major infrastructure developments to small residential jobs and has encompassed many business sectors, including Government agencies, regulatory authorities, developers and industry-based companies. Her experience has garnered her a diverse skill set across the environmental discipline.
Elyse was seconded to the $1.4 billion Waterview Connection Project (Well-Connected Alliance, NZTA) as the Environmental Advisor during the construction of the twin tunnels and associated infrastructure works.
Her wide-ranging expertise includes:
- Preparation and implementation of environmental management plans (including erosion and sediment control plans)
- Environmental site audits
- Earthwork related monitoring (noise, vibration, air/dust, erosion and sediment controls)
- Surface water, groundwater and soil investigations, sampling and assessment
- Contaminated land desktop studies and intrusive investigations including assessment and management of contaminated sites
