Tonkin + Taylor was part of the Fulton Hogan led team that liaised with the people of Onehunga and local Iwi to design and to create the Taumanu Reserve – a 6.8-hectare recreational park formed on reclaimed land in the Manukau Harbour.  The project sought to restore access to the Onehunga Foreshore that was lost when SH20 was built across the Bay in the 1970s.

We advised on environmental, stormwater, ecology, planning, civil, design aspects, and local mana whenua engagement of the project.

Taumanu Reserve was delivered to Auckland Council, Waka Kotahi, and the people of Auckland in November 2015.
