Jan Noering is a Water Resources Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Natural Resources Engineering from the University of Canterbury and is a Graduate member of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand.Jan has experience in various dams, hydrology and hydraulic works. He has spent two years working on feasibility studies of dam options throughout New Zealand including design, risk analysis and financial feasibility assessments of a variety of different schemes.
Jan specialises in leading multidisciplinary teams through the design, consenting and consultation processes of horizontal infrastructure projects, ranging from ports and seawalls to cycleways and large scale multi-disciplinary roading projects. He has worked in a number of different countries, and prides himself on being able to take a holistic view of projects, while still understanding the technical requirements of projects.
Jan has led several key projects, including the detailed design of the Paekākāriki Seawall, the public engagement and optioneering of the Wellington City Council Cycleway programme, and more recently several Windfarm developments. Further to this he has filled key roles in the Memorial Park Alliance, SH2 / SH58 Interchange Design and Construct, Mt Messenger Alliance, NCTIR, and Peka Peka to Otaki Expressway.
At Tonkin and Taylor, Jan has a client manager role, as well as supporting both the Energy and Water Sector Directors in directing the direction of work in these sectors
