Marcus has over 13 years’ previous experience working for local government at Auckland Council and brought this wealth of expertise to T+T in 2018. His experience extends across multiple disciplines within the aquatic science space, including marine ecology, sediment, shellfish and water quality, policy and regulatory and ecological restoration. He has designed and implemented complex water, sediment and shellfish quality monitoring programmes, carried out numerous ecological effects assessments and has an in-depth knowledge of aquatic contaminant issues and marine ecological restoration.
Marcus has worked with a range of Crown Research Institutes, Universities, Special Interest Groups and central and local government agencies to develop frameworks and guidance for managing freshwater, estuarine and marine systems. Marcus has a passion for marine ecological restoration and enhancement and has extensive experience as an expert witness having appeared in a number of council, Environment Court and Board of Inquiry hearings.
