Mark is an Environmental Geologist based in our Christchurch office.
He has more than 20 years' experience in the investigation, assessment and management of brownfield sites and since the Canterbury earthquakes Mark has worked extensively on sites where asbestos contamination of soils is the primary contaminant of concern. He helped owners manage their sites, including seeking regulatory compliance for the management or remediation and removal of the contaminated materials.
Mark has extensive knowledge of the regulatory regime (resource management and health and safety regulations) associated with asbestos contamination of soils and holds a Certificate of Competence for friable asbestos in soil under the Health and Safety in Employment (Asbestos) Regulations 1998. Between 2007 and 2013 Mark worked for both territorial and regional councils providing specialist contaminated land advice and the provision of consent conditions for development and construction.
