Recent Projects

Waitangi Wharf Upgrade, Chatham Islands

Marine ecological impact assessment to support an application for resource consent to upgrade the Waitangi Wharf, Chatham Island and preparation of evidence for a Council hearing.

Māngere-Otāhuhu mangrove management

Preparation of ecological inputs for a mangrove management plan for the Māngere-Otāhuhu Local Board for the successful resource consent application, including Mana Whenua consultation in collaboration with Auckland Council.

Onehunga Foreshore Restoration project

Preparation of an ecological effects assessment for a large coastal restoration project, the development of a mitigation package for the project, and preparation of evidence for a Council hearing. 

Wellington Harbour Dredging, NZ

Marine ecological investigations, modelling, effects assessment for dredging and marine disposal of up to 7 million cubic metres of sediment from the entrance to Wellington Harbour.

Auckland City Council Beach Replenishment projects

Project management and technical (water quality/ecology) inputs to resource consenting for eight beach replenishment schemes, including Kohimarama, St Heliers and Pt Chevalier.

Coastal protection works, Kiribati

Ecological impact assessment (coastal marine and coastal vegetation) and development of management plans and mitigation proposals for coastal protection works at 12 sites on South Tarawa addressing accelerated coastal erosion due to sea level rise.

Apia Port Samoa; Nuku’ alofa Ferry Terminal, Tonga

Assessment of water and sediment quality and assistance with a marine ecosystem surveys of the coastal marine environment to support proposed improvements and developments to Port and Wharf facilities in Samoa and Tonga.

Sandfly Managemet, Cook Islands

Ecological assessment and recommendations on how to manage biting midge issues on Duck Pond, Aitutaki.

West Harbour Project, Pitcairn Island.

Environmental effects assessment of the West Harbour wharf upgrade and prepared Environmental Management Plan associated with the upgrade works.
