Podcast Episode Eleven – Helpers and Educators: EHS Audits in EMEA + US

In this second instalment of our podcast series on EHS audits, we dive into regional insights across the EMEA region and the United States. Joined by global experts Lauren Corbett-Noon (Antea Group), Robert Szucs-Winkler (denxpert), and Dr. Roland Langmoen (Baden Consulting), the conversation explores how audits serve not just as a compliance mechanism, but as a powerful opportunity for education and support.

Audits are evolving. No longer seen as a checkbox exercise, they now sit at the intersection of business performance and environmental, health, safety, and ESG responsibility. As Robert highlights, “EHS and ESG have become mainstream… you are in the spotlight, and the auditor plays an important role in this process.”

Throughout the episode, our guests emphasise the shifting role of the auditor—from enforcer to educator. “We really take the approach that our role is to help,” Lauren shares. “We encourage facility-level practitioners to ask questions. We’re here to guide you.” This emphasis on knowledge-sharing and partnership reflects a broader industry trend: audits are increasingly collaborative and proactive.

Roland adds that helping clients understand legislative context and sharing cross-industry experiences are central to the auditor’s value. “This is essential—to transfer this knowledge to our customers,” he explains.

Whether you’re a facility manager in the U.S. or an EHS lead in Europe, this episode offers valuable perspectives on how auditing can drive improvement, build capability, and support continuous compliance.

Listen now to hear how today’s auditors are shaping tomorrow’s environmental and safety practices—by helping, educating, and collaborating.
