Chris Bailey is a Technical Director – Contaminated Land at Tonkin & Taylor Ltd with over 25 years’ experience assessing, consenting and managing soil, groundwater and vapour contamination in NZ, Australia and the US for a range of commercial and government clients. He provides specialist technical inputs for T+T projects requiring contaminant fate and transport modelling, risk assessment and environmental engineering capabilities.
Chris delivers technical expertise for clients on difficult projects. Recent work includes acting as contaminated land lead in the Wynyard Edge Alliance which has developed the syndicate bases for the 36th Americas Cup on Wynyard Point on Auckland’s waterfront.
Chris also manages a range of multi-disciplinary projects in the land and water development space. He is experienced at assembling the right mix of technical experts on project teams to provide innovative solutions for complex issues.
Chris regularly presents at ALGA and at WasteMINZ conferences and is a past chairperson of its contaminated land sector group. In 2011 and 2019 he taught 6 week courses at the University of Auckland Engineering School on environmental engineering for contaminated land.
