Justine joined Tonkin + Taylor in early 2017, bringing with her 10 years’ experience in freshwater science within the public and private sectors. T + T was the obvious choice for Justine as she values the opportunities that working in a multi-disciplinary environment can bring.
She has designed and implemented complex water quality and ecological monitoring programmes including recent microbial source tracking of faecal contamination, which is an interesting (and useful) technological advancement. Working in the regulatory setting (on both sides of the fence) Justine contributes to land development projects, with an aim to incorporate site-wide initiatives to meet multiple objectives around water management and with minimal ecological impact.
While Justine is a bona fide scientist, she also has a side interest in policy and environmental law, returning to university to get a Master’s degree in Environmental Legal Studies. This, combined with her BSc and PGDipSci, means she can speak multiple jargons, which comes in handy in larger project teams.
