Peter is a highly experienced engineer who has provided governance and specialist geotechnical advice on a variety of landmark infrastructure and building projects throughout New Zealand and the South East Asia region.
Throughout his 40-year career, Peter has held a number of key leadership, operational, and technical roles on major civil works, involving the design and construction of roads, tunnels, large multi-storey buildings and the remediation of landslips. With this extensive project experience, he has developed strong capabilities in deep foundation work, ground retention, slope stability, earthquake engineering, ground vibrations, tunnelling and pavement design.
Peter also has significant experience as a Project Alliance Board (PAB) member providing guidance and leadership, and building positive relationships to achieve greater outcomes on some of New Zealand's largest roading contracts. Notably, he has served as a key PAB member on several of the Agency's highway and roading contracts, which were similar in scale and complexity to the CNC project. Recent work includes the current Well Connected Alliance for the Waterview Connections, the Newmarket Viaduct Replacement Project, the Northern Gateway Toll Road Project and the Wellington Memorial Park Alliance.
Peter has also significantly contributed to the Christchurch Recovery Works as a member of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Engineering Advisory Group, and the government appointed review team for the failure of multi-storeyed buildings. He is also the principal researcher for the QEII simulated earthquake foundation trials. Peter's local knowledge combined with his understanding of technical issues and extensive alliance experience will greatly benefit the successful direction of the project.
