Selene is a Fluvial Geomorphologist (the study of form and function of streams and interaction between streams and surrounding landscape) and riparian vegetation Ecologist, with particular expertise in geomorphic and vegetation assessments including: geomorphic condition assessments of waterways, evolutionary trajectory assessments of river systems, compliance monitoring of constructed waterways, and Regional Ecosystem mapping (Queensland). Selene also has substantial experience in developing prioritisation frameworks for river systems, revegetation plans for constructed surfaces, providing input into stream diversion design, as well as erosion mitigation options assessments.
As a trans-Tasman environmental consultant, Selene has provided specialist environmental advice to a diverse range of clients over the past nine years. Some of these include local and regional councils (New Zealand), federal, state and local government agencies (Australia), mining companies, energy providers, not-for-profit organisations, community groups and private landowners.
Selene is on the ENZ Rivers Group Committee, is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Geomorphology Group and the New Zealand Ecological Society. Selene is also a Certified Environmental Practitioner with the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand. Selene’s holistic approach and diverse client base drives her to provide collaborative and pragmatic solutions to a diverse range of environmental issues.
