Tim Morris is a Principal of Tonkin +Taylor (T+T) and Technical Director - Dam and Water Resource Engineering with over twenty years' industry experience.
Tim has managed or contributed to investigation stages, as well as detailed design and construction of many hydroelectric, irrigation and other infrastructure projects. Projects often involve complex water storage and distribution infrastructure; including schemes featuring intakes, canals, pipelines and dams of various types. He was South Zone Design Manager for Phase 2 of the $1.4B (NZD) North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery project following the November 2016 Kaikoura earthquake.
In addition, he has undertaken many dam safety roles and has led or contributed to numerous dam inspection and safety review projects for High or equivalent Potential Impact Category (PIC) dams.
He is a member of the Selwyn District Council Water Race Sub-Committee, the group that provides governance oversight to management and operation of water distribution infrastructure for three council-owned multipurpose irrigation and stock water schemes.
In addition, Tim has substantial review experience including major projects involving multifaceted water storage and transmission infrastructure. Example projects include the Rangitata Diversion Race Klondyke Storage, Central Plains Water scheme and the Deep Stream Hydroelectric project.
