As part of Nelson City Council’s public consultation around coastal inundation, Tonkin + Taylor developed an innovative 3D ArcGIS Story Map to communicate to Nelson residents how increased risk of coastal inundation, magnified by Climate Change, could impact their communities in the future.
The 3D maps used technical modelled datasets and visualised them in a user-friendly interactive 3D manner, helping to tell a story while also providing ways for the user to explore at their own pace.
A series of 2D maps were also produced as physical maps for use at consultation workshops.
