Tonkin + Taylor teamed up with Te Whakahaere, Auckland Council and Local Government New Zealand to discuss the imperative for reducing emissions in our communities as part of the inaugural Auckland Climate Festival (ACF).
The ACF is an open platform for climate leaders to engage with communities, the private sector, government, youth and Māori across the Tāmaki region as a coordinated response to the climate emergency.
The IPCC have recently announced ‘Code Red’ for the planet, yet this should not be news to any of us. Our thought-provoking discussion focused on the urgency and challenges of reducing emissions for local government and communities. Our speakers discussed the challenge from different angles, bringing their collective experience in working on climate issues locally and internationally.
