Parental leave at Tonkin + Taylor highlighted

You may have noticed that the arrival of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's baby has prompted quite a lot of baby talk in the news over the last few days.... Well, one of the articles - discussing which NZ workplaces offer the best deal for new parents - features T+T's parental leave policy as a positive example. We value our people, something which is reflected in our company policies. Our parental leave policy includes a top up on the government payments to full salary level for 18 weeks, one week paid leave for any new parent, pay reviews while on leave, and flexible working arrangements for returning parents. Ayoub Riman, one of our senior geotechnical engineers, talks  in the Stuff article about his experience of taking parental leave from T+T when daughter Camelia was born.

Kavita Khanna, Director of People + Capability, also spoke to Stuff. Speaking to Kavita ourselves, she expanded further, commenting that “becoming a parent is an important decision for people. At T+T, a part of who we are as a company is about supporting our people when they become parents.  Our parental leave policy has been designed with this intent in mind. The driver was our principle of being the Best to work for. And what we have on offer as parental leave is not only for our very talented female professionals. In the spirit of inclusiveness, our men can access the same benefits, should they choose to be the primary care-giver.”
